Hatbands

Following are samples of various hatbands we have created and all of them are beauties. All were designed and crafted by Siksamisi. If we don't currently have one you like in stock, it can be created in 10 days to two weeks. If you have a tribal design or colors in mind, please let me know and we will be glad to create a hatband for you.
We use size 14 beads resulting in approximately 200 beads per square inch. For example, it is not unusual for a hatband to contain 5,000 beads or more with each bead being selected by hand. All the hatbands (or headbands) shown here have been loom beaded and then sewn to deerhide. They can be designed in any color of your choice.

This hatband was designed and created by Siksamisi representing the Viet Nam service ribbon. It is 1/2" wide and 24" long, which is longer than normal. We can create one for you that is similar to this one, adding any tribal elements you choose.
This hatband is created with size 14 seed beads in red, yellow, cobalt blue and white in a mountain design and four winds design - on a white field - it is approximately 1" wide by 19" long - it is shown on a black hat - very stunning hatband!!

This hatband is created with size 14 seed beads in mirror teepee designs in cobalt, yellow, red and light blue on a white field. It is approximately 1" wide by 19" long - it is shown on a black hat - wouldn't this look great on your hat!

This hatband is called "Painted Ponies" and is created with size 14 seed beads in yellow, pink and blue on a black field - it is approximately 1" wide by 19" long - it is shown on a black hat - BEAUTIFUL!!

This hatband was designed and created by Siksamisi for a special client to match custom work on his leather jacket (thank you Tom). This design will not be duplicated out of respect but is a sample of custom beadwork. Contact us with your ideas.

This hatband was designed and created by Siksamisi for a special client (thanks Ike). It is 1-1/8" wide by 24" in length, beaded with size 12 old style Czech glass seed beads. There are over 6,000 beads in this hatband. This particular hatband will not be duplicated, but will give you an idea of what we can create and the cost of a one that is similar in size and beads.

This hatband was designed and created by Siksamisi for a special client in a pictographic style (in size 14 beads) depicting the story of how the Crow Came to be Black. It is an inch wide and the beaded section is 20", mounted on braintanned deerhide. This particular hatband is one of a kind but one could be created for you with your own story.

This hatband was designed and created by Siksamisi and is called Mountain Winds - created using size 11 seed beads. It is an inch wide and the beaded section is approximately 19".

This hatband was designed and created by Siksamisi using size 14 seed beads (approximately 200 beads per square inch) with the New Mexico Zia design - it is done in black, red, yellow, green and silver beads - mounted on black deerhide. The beaded section is 20" long and because of the size of the beads, this is a more expensive hatband.

One of our customers was kind enough to send us a picture of this hatband on one of his sombreros. (Thanks Monty) Isn't it a beauty! This hatband was designed and created by Siksamisi using the United States flag and teepee design. (Signed on the reverse by the artist and with her tribal number). The beaded section on this hatband is loomed with size 11 glass seed beads and measures 3/4" wide x 22" long (not including ties). It is then sewn by hand to braintanned deerhide (over 2,000 beads with each one selected by hand). This is a beautiful piece - the picture simply does not bring out the colors and design.

This is a very colorful and dramatic beaded hatband designed and created by Siksamisi. (Signed on the reverse by the artist and with her tribal number). The beaded section on this hatband is loomed with size 11 glass seed beads and measures 1" x 18" long (not including ties). It is then sewn by hand to tan deerhide (over 2,000 beads with each one selected by hand). This is a beautiful piece - the picture simply does not bring out the bold colors and design - would be amazing on a black or white hat.
